15/12/2010 Conratulations! A friend is pregnant and had this craving for butter cake. It's a 7" butter cake covered with fondant. I made a figurine of her resting on a pillow while having a slice of cake.

1/1/2010 Zoo Negara celebrated their 1st anniversary of their loyalty card members. Cakes were divided into 4 sections. The sea is made from butter cakes and the island from chocolate cakes. Total combine length and width for the sea is 18" x 18" and island is 12" x 12". Total combine weight of the cakes is 15kg. There are 32 sugar figurines. They are hippos, crocodiles, starfishes, turtles, bears, snakes, dolphin, sea lion, giraffes, monkeys, birds, elephants, tiger, blow fish, jellyfish, yellow fish, and shells.

Sizes and Flavours

Size of a cake depends on the shape of the pan. Usually it is around 1.2-1.6 kg. I always quote the weight of the cake without icing.

For flavours, there is a choice of the normal butter or chocolate cake using imported chocolate powder, almond cake using real almonds, orange cake using fresh orange juice and fruit cake. All cakes are made with 100% imported butter, no substitutes like margarine or butter spread, for a really good taste.

Icing are made from 100% butter or fondant. There are some occasions the icing can be royal icing, chocolate ganache or buttercream.

A Little Bit Of This and That

5/8/2009 Halim Bridal ordered 1000 pcs (2"x2.5"x1") and 30 pcs (2"x2"x3") fruit cakes for his clients. Took me 7 days to bake all the cakes. Cutting and packaging was done by my friend Diana. Since it was a big order for one person to do alone and didn't have much time to do it, I went and bought myself a NEW TOY....a red Kitchen Aid Artisan.

7/2009 Finally, I got my diploma in Cake Decorating from Squires Kitchen International School of Cake Decorating and Sugarcraft. These are the projects that I did.



A 2-tier wedding cake with sugarpaste modelling figures.









A dummy cake covered with fondant and decorated with gumpaste flowers. Flowers are English roses, fan poppy, sweet peas and hypericum berries.

15/8/2008 - until the next morning. Had a wedding cake also a last minute order (3pm) to cook "mee hoon goreng" for 150 people. Sorry, no pictures of the mee hoon...was too busy to take pic.





26/1/2008 It was a CRAZY 2 days of baking. Had a "big" order to bake 13 (14'' x 11") cakes. Had only 3 days notice because the person who was supposed to do it cancelled. Later in April got another repeat order for 8 (9" x 9") cakes. This time it wasn't at a short notice.

10/8/2008 Wedding "hantaran" for Kamila. Two sizes of cupcakes made with butter cakes and butter icing. The blue cupcakes was decorated with white chocolate hearts and the smaller cupcakes was sprinkled with blue coloured sugars.

16/8/2008 Halim Bridal at Shah Alam Mall ordered this cake for a friend. Made by using gold luster painted onto the cake.












4/5/2008 Taja and Shima's Wedding. My cousin Shima wanted a 2 tier cake with a simple wordings of "Just Married" on the cake. Cake was made with a 7" and 9" butter cake covered with fondant. Cake weights around 3 kg (without icing).
